Main Responsibility:
Plan and implement local operations and customs affairs action plans in alignment with local Business District and Regional/Global Operational strategy. 

Specific Tasks:

  1. Strategy and Coordination:

    • Coordinate with the Country Management team to determine local operations and customs affairs strategies.
    • Implement action plans according to the agreed schedule and review progress and results.
  2. Budget Management:

    • Prepare and manage the annual operations and customs affairs budget.
    • Ensure operations are run within the budgeted requirements.
  3. Team Development:

    • Build and maintain a high-performance operations and customs affairs team.
    • Understand team needs and provide support to maintain high staff satisfaction.
  4. Operational Efficiency:

    • Run operations to meet planned transit times with a focus on continuous improvement.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance transit times and operational efficiency.
    • Meet or exceed KPI standards and address any shortfall areas with corrective actions.
  5. Continuous Improvement and Expansion:

    • Plan and implement continuous improvement actions and expansion plans to support business growth and competitive positioning.
    • Adapt operations to meet changing business needs and growth trends.
  6. External Relationships:

    • Maintain good relationships with external counterparts, such as customs authorities and Air Cargo Terminals, to facilitate operations.
    • Manage sub-contractors to ensure quality service as per contracts or agreements.
    • Establish and regularly review service level agreements with sub-contractors, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvements as needed.
  7. Miscellaneous Duties:

    • Perform any other duties assigned from time to time to support overall business objectives.

Qualifications:

Country operational management including air, and ground operations

Bachelors degree

Minimum 10 years experience in the Express or Logistics industry

Languages: English and Japanese
