About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced National Sea Logistics Pricing and Revenue Manager to join their Operational Care Team. This position offers the opportunity to leverage your leadership expertise and skills in delivering Operational and Customer Excellence. As a key player in the team, you will be responsible for leading the pricing team, setting margins for pricing requests, and ensuring a profitable gross yield.
This role requires a persistent personality to negotiate internally for the rates needed to win business in Japan. Effective internal stakeholder management is essential to secure the best pricing and drive business success in a highly competitive market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead pricing strategies, focusing on pricing, RFQ preparation, sea logistics procurement, and carrier relation management to maximize profits.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports to track progress on performance and development goals.
- Collaborate with managers and colleagues to ensure timely responses to rate requests.
- Organize daily and weekly stand-up meetings with your team to identify and resolve business challenges.
- Set selling prices within established bandwidths in alignment with local conditions and pricing policy.
- Maintain transparency by sharing current freight rate levels with customer care locations.
- Support and share information with internal stakeholders to acquire new accounts, retain existing customers, and further develop business relationships.
- Assist business owners with non-standard RFQ-related requests as needed.
Skills and Experience
- Proven leadership skills and a strong understanding of trade management.
- Excellent customer and stakeholder relationship management abilities, with an emphasis on internal negotiation and collaboration.
- In-depth knowledge of operations and pricing strategies within the freight logistics industry.
