Job Description

The Director of Business Development APAC will be responsible for spearheading our business development efforts, focusing on expanding our client base and enhancing our service offerings across the Asia-Pacific region. This strategic position requires a deep understanding of the logistics landscape, a robust network within the industry, and a proven track record of driving business growth. You will collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategies that align with our company's goals, ensuring sustained growth and market competitiveness.

New Business Development

  • Client Acquisition: Identify and pursue potential new clients, converting leads into new business opportunities.
  • Lead Generation: Perform cold calls and other outreach activities to build a robust pipeline of opportunities.
  • Network Expansion: Leverage your network and industry experience to cultivate relationships and develop new business within the APAC region.
  • Leverage Existing Relationships: Utilize the global customer base and existing relationships to uncover new business opportunities in the APAC region.
  • Client Engagement: Grow, maintain, and leverage your network to meet potential clients.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with the team to create proposals that address client needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Service Presentation: Introduce new services and strengthen existing client relationships.
  • Pricing Strategy: Participate in pricing solutions and services.
  • Objection Handling: Address client objections by clarifying points, emphasizing agreements, and finding positive resolutions.
  • Collaboration: Work with technical staff and internal colleagues to meet customer requirements.

Business Development Planning

  • Consultation and Trends Analysis: Present to and consult with mid and senior-level management on business trends to develop new services and distribution strategies.
  • Market Analysis: Use market and competitor knowledge to identify and develop unique selling propositions, differentiators, and the companys go-to-market strategy.

Management & Research

  • Reporting: Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data accuracy.
  • CRM Management: Ensure accurate data entry and management within the companys CRM or other sales management systems.
  • Sales Forecasting: Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met.
  • Account Management: Track and record activity on accounts and assist in closing deals to meet sales targets.
  • Research and Development: Develop a thorough understanding of the companys people, services, and capabilities.

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience: Proven experience in business development within the 3PL (Distribution Logistics) sector, with a focus on the APAC region being a significant advantage.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in developing business with non-Japanese, global corporations, and selling to industrial, heavy-duty equipment, or automotive customers is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong ability to drive business growth and profitability, implement sales strategies, generate leads, and conduct market research.
  • Language Proficiency: Native-level Japanese and business-level English required.
