About the job Ultrasound Tech
Responsibilities:
- Performs diagnostic imaging using ARDMS protocols for the following exams: OB/GYN; abdomen; pelvic and endovaginal; small parts including breast, thyroid, and scrotum; vascular, including DVT, arterial legs, carotids. Receives patients, explains procedures, and selects appropriate equipment to ensure good patient care. Echocardiography is a plus.
- Office Duties. Performs office jobs in a small department including, but not limited to: answering phones, scheduling patients exams, printing reports, retrieving charts, researching problems, ordering supplies, copying and mailing exams to various facilities, and helping providers. Collaborates with SEARHC staff to create a positive working environment.
- Documentation of QA and QC for SEARHC imaging modalities. Documents: high level disinfection, and other information per Joint Commission regulations.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Associates degree with certification in diagnostic sonography.
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program preferred
Experience:
- 1 year Ultrasound experience
License and Certifications:
- ARDMS or ARRT certified or registration eligible
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge
- Extensive knowledge of the anatomy and physiology used in standard ultrasound
Skills
- Skilled at independently performing ultrasound.
- Skilled in oral and written communication.
- Skilled in organizing and cleaning work areas and maintaining equipment in serviceable condition.
