Our company has been a leader in the construction industry for over 25 years, delivering high-quality projects with precision and efficiency. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Estimator to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate project bids and maintaining seamless communication between our internal team, clients, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities:

  • Retrieve scanned plans from the system or download bid packages and organize project folders on the estimating server.

  • Update weekly meeting minutes with new plans, bid due dates, and status updates on open bids.

  • Complete the Estimating Checklist for every bid.

  • Maintain and update the bid board.

  • Review landlord requirements, including any required or preferred subcontractors.

  • Collaborate with the Assistant Estimator to ensure the correct subcontractors are bidding on projects.

  • Confirm that subcontractor bid invitations are sent out within 24-48 hours of receiving the bid package.

  • Schedule and confirm site visits during the bid process.

  • Verify project start and end dates within the bid package.

  • Provide a trade breakdown to identify necessary subcontractor pricing.

  • Perform trade take-offs and unit cost analysis to qualify and quantify subcontractor pricing for bid compilation.

  • Conduct a thorough review of project bid documents and plans to ensure a comprehensive understanding of project scope.

  • Generate RFIs during the bid process to communicate effectively with clients and architects. Develop and share potential Value Engineering (VE) opportunities with clients.

  • Prepare estimates on the clients bid form and generate clear, accurate budget reports.

  • Submit finalized estimates to clients by the bid due date.

  • Complete project scope sheets for each trade to properly qualify subcontractors.

  • Upon project award, collaborate with the Project Manager to review scopes, buyouts, and budgets to ensure a successful project kickoff.

  • Take detailed notes during weekly meetings and ensure that all estimating-related topics and issues are addressed.

  • Review bid due dates and set calendar reminders for submission deadlines.

  • Discuss plans with subcontractors to identify and propose VE options for submission.

  • Request labor rates and unit cost details from subcontractors as part of the bidding process.
