Electrical Engineer - EXPAT
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Oil & Gas Industry, ability to develop design packages and conduct studies for electrical systems. Must have full knowledge of international standards and best practices such as NEC and IEEE
Degrees
Bachelor degree in Electrical or Power Engineering
Work Experience
Must have a comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in electrical engineering projects, design, maintenance, assessments, studies, investigations, analysis, optimization, troubleshooting, detailed reports and technical evaluations.
Must have detailed knowledge and background in power overhead lines, transformers, generators, solar power, battery chargers, battery banks, Cathodic protection, heat traces, pumps, motors, air blowers, power distribution, buildings electrical systems, power metering, electrical cables, electrical material selection criteria, electrical systems sizing and power optimization solutions.
Design or study electrical modifications to oil & gas facilities, residences and utilities, design electrical aspects of new facilities of the type mentioned above.
Share Electrical Engineering knowledge, experience, and train young engineers, plan, monitor and improve Energy Management and Efficiency Programs, and develop the department Power Reliability Programs to monitor the performance and reliability of electrical systems.
Review Engineering design packages related to Electrical aspects and appropriate material selection and cost minimization and issue design engineering packages for anode monitoring and Cathodic Protection (CP) systems.
Conduct electrical surveys, assessments and audits to the department assets related to DC battery systems, CP systems and Solar Systems and develop continuous improvements solutions for electrical challenges.
Develop coherent electric equipment specification and data sheet like EHV GIS/AIS Switchgear, Power Transformers, large synchronous/induction motors, HV/LV Switchgears and Control gears, EHV/HV/LV Cables, Bus ducts, EHV GIBs, UPS, Battery Charger, NGR and Panel boards requirement.
Participate in Electrical Power system studies including Short Circuit, Load Flow analysis, Motor starting, Arc Flash Hazard, Relay coordination and setting using ETAP software and develop and review electrical engineering calculations like Grounding, Earthing, Battery charger, Battery sizing, Transformer sizing, Cable sizing, Electrical Load schedules, Lighting.
Develop and review Single line diagrams, protection and metering schemes, motor schematics, Electrical Equipment layouts, plant cable routing layouts, lighting and grounding layouts, area classification drawings, substation automation architecture, synchronizing and bus changeover schemes.
Provides guidance on standards development through technical committee participation. Interprets standards, industry codes (such as NFPA, ANSI IEEE, IEC, API, NEC and NACE) and recommends changes to reduce costs associated with overly stringent requirements
