Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with carriers across FTL, LTL, refrigerated, flatbed, drayage, and specialized transportation modes.
- Build carrier capacity strategies to support customer freight demands and seasonal fluctuations.
- Negotiate rates and secure competitive pricing while maximizing profitability.
- Monitor market conditions, trends, and carrier performance to ensure optimal service and cost management.
- Collaborate closely with Customer Sales, Operations, and Account Management teams to provide seamless transportation solutions.
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics for carrier representatives and ensure achievement of team goals.
- Identify and onboard new carrier partners while maintaining compliance and safety standards.
- Resolve service failures and capacity challenges quickly and effectively.
- Utilize TMS and freight technology platforms to manage loads, track performance, and improve efficiencies.
- Analyze market data and provide recommendations regarding pricing, capacity, and strategic opportunities.
- Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, and customer service excellence.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of freight brokerage or third-party logistics experience.
- Previous leadership experience within carrier sales or brokerage operations preferred.
- Strong carrier network and understanding of transportation markets.
- Experience supporting FTL, LTL, refrigerated, flatbed, and specialized freight.
- Proven success negotiating rates and improving profitability.
- Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with TMS and CRM platforms.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
