Job Description Senior Outside Sales - Expedite

Location: Michigan - Remote

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Outside Sales Representative to join our team a lead our

growth in our Expedited service line. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of identifying,

developing, and closing business opportunities focused on Expedited services. As a Senior Outside Sales

Representative, you will be responsible for generating new business, managing key client relationships, and

contributing to revenue growth through strategic sales efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

o Identify and pursue new Expedited sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, and

industry events.

o Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects across various sectors, including

automotive, pharma, aerospace, manufacturing, distribution, and more.

o Build long-term relationships with potential and existing customers to generate recurring

business.

Sales Strategy:

o Create and implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth and meet or exceed

sales targets.

o Collaborate with internal teams (operations, pricing, customer service) to develop tailored

solutions that meet customer needs.

o Conduct in-depth needs assessments and present customized transportation and logistics

solutions to decision-makers.

Relationship Management:

o Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned key accounts, ensuring exceptional service

and customer satisfaction at executive level.

o Regularly meet with clients to review performance, discuss opportunities for growth, and

address any service-related issues.

o Negotiate contracts, rates, and service agreements with customers.

Market Knowledge and Research:

o Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market dynamics to identify potential

opportunities and risks.

o Provide market intelligence to internal teams to enhance service offerings and stay

competitive.

Reporting and Forecasting:

o Prepare and present regular sales reports, including revenue forecasts, sales activity, and key

account updates.

o Use CRM systems to track customer interactions, sales activities, and pipeline management.

o Provide feedback to management on market conditions, service gaps, and customer needs.

Sales Department

Cross-functional Collaboration:

o Work closely with operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and implementation of new accounts.

o Partner with the pricing and finance teams to develop competitive and profitable pricing models.

o Provide input on marketing initiatives to enhance brand visibility and sales support materials.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Business, Sales, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (preferred).

5+ years of experience in outside sales, business development, or account management within the Expedited mode in transportation and logistics industry.

Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and developing new business in transportation and logistics services (E-LTL, Expedite, Team, Air, etc.).

Strong understanding of the transportation and logistics market, including knowledge of freight, brokerage, and supply chain solutions.

Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to work independently and manage a large geographic territory with minimal supervision.

Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory to meet with clients and prospects.
