About the job Preconstruction and Project Coordinator
Position Summary:
The Preconstruction and Project Coordinator plays a critical role in both the planning and execution phases of electrical construction projects. This position is split between preconstruction (40%), project coordination (50%), and administrative support (10%). The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and enjoys managing multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Preconstruction (40%)
Collaborate with estimators and project managers to prepare bid proposals, scopes of work, and material take-offs.
Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and availability information.
Maintain and update bid tracking tools and bid logs.
Support the creation and submission of RFIs, submittals, and pre-bid documentation.
Participate in job walks and pre-bid meetings when needed.
Project Coordination (50%)
Support project managers with scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor coordination.
Assist with job start-up processes including submittals, material ordering, and permits.
Track project progress, update logs, and ensure timely communication between field and office teams.
Maintain organized project documentation including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and closeout packages.
Attend project meetings, take notes, and follow up on action items.
Coordinate inspections and maintain punch lists as projects near completion.
Administrative Support (10%)
Provide general administrative support for cross training purposes and back up as needed
Manage email communications and respond to inquiries on behalf of project teams.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in construction coordination, preferably in the electrical trade.
Strong knowledge of construction documents, terminology, and processes.
Familiarity with estimating or pre construction processes is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), general technology knowledge. Willing to train on systems.
Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with project team
