Your Role
As an Electrical Engineer at Damen Naval, you will play a pivotal role in the design and commissioning of cutting-edge naval vessels. Your expertise ensures that power systems and wiring configurations are meticulously developed to meet the highest standards and regulations. From calculating load balances to defining power distribution and optimal cable routing, you will ensure all systems function flawlessly under any condition. Working within the 3D Experience engineering environment and following the V-model, you will contribute to both basic and detailed designs, overseeing thorough testing and verification throughout the design and production phases. Your efforts will culminate in the successful launch of highly advanced naval vessels.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop functional descriptions, drawings, and foundational engineering documents for power distribution, lighting, and electrical systems.
- Prepare and maintain specification documents for electrical components and installation processes.
- Create detailed test and validation plans to ensure compliance with Class regulations and customer requirements, both in simulations and real-world tests (FAT, HAT, SAT).
- Manage vendors and subcontractors to secure timely project contributions.
- Review vendor and subcontractor designs, integrating them into the vessels overall design.
- Develop and document standards and working methods for detailed engineering and commissioning.
- Provide conceptual designs for electrical power systems during the proposal phase.
- Offer technical support during commissioning activities and throughout ongoing projects.
What Were Looking For
- A minimum of 3 years experience in designing complex electrical systems, including large power distribution networks, preferably in maritime, offshore, or aeronautical environments.
- Proven track record of working on complex, multidisciplinary projects involving multiple suppliers and subcontractors.
- Experience in a model-based systems engineering (MBSE) environment, adhering to the V-model methodology.

Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with designing EMC-compliant systems; familiarity with TEMPEST regulations is a plus.

Strong references, as a security screening is mandatory for this position.
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are required due to the military nature of the projects. Unfortunately, candidates holding only an EU work visa, or both EU and non-EU nationality and/or passports, do not meet eligibility criteria.
