Your Role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering technically excellent engineering solutions from concept to completion. This position requires a hands-on, problem-solving mindset, as well as strong communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Working on a variety of offshore wind projects, you will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of innovative mechanical systems, ensuring that all projects are delivered On Spec, to Budget, and In Time (OSBIT).

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems from initial concept to detailed engineering, ensuring technical excellence throughout.
  • Manage project deliverables efficiently to meet schedule requirements.
  • Oversee supplier progress, conducting regular meetings and providing in-person support as needed.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including design calculations and peer reviews, while evaluating third-party documentation.
  • Participate in testing, commissioning, and mobilization activities to ensure project success.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including finance and HSSEQ, to align project goals with company standards.
  • Share technical knowledge with colleagues through working groups and presentations.

What Theyre Looking For

Osbit is seeking a proactive and adaptable professional with a keen interest in offshore wind engineering. Ideal candidates should demonstrate:

  • A degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture.
  • Experience working with Autodesk Inventor for mechanical design.
  • Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in hand calculations, Staad, and FEA analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • A self-motivated, detail-oriented, and persistent approach to problem-solving.
  • Adaptability to handle unexpected project challenges effectively.
