To support its growth, LiftOff is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join its team in The Hague, Netherlands.

Your Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping custom engineering solutions for offshore wind turbine maintenance. From concept development to execution, you will be responsible for designing, validating, and implementing technical systems that integrate seamlessly with diverse turbine brands and offshore locations. You'll take full ownership of projects, collaborating across teams and disciplines to ensure each solution is robust, compliant, and tailored to operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop customised engineering solutions for offshore wind turbine maintenance

  • Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to design and validate system components

  • Lead the Engineering-to-Order (ETO) process, ensuring all project elements align

  • Review and verify technical documentation from subcontractors for consistency and accuracy

  • Communicate design concepts and technical calculations clearly to clients

  • Create and refine concepts using 3D modelling tools

  • Manage full project lifecycle, from initial concept to final implementation

  • Identify technical challenges early and propose effective solutions

  • Integrate emerging technologies to maintain engineering innovation

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety and quality standards

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams

What Theyre Looking For

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering

  • At least 2 years of experience in R&D or engineering, with a focus on concept development

  • Proficiency in 3D modelling software; experience with Solid Edge or Siemens NX is a plus

  • Familiarity with offshore wind turbines and associated systems is preferred

  • Knowledge of cranes, lifting operations, and offshore work is an advantage

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken

  • Hands-on, proactive attitude with a structured, team-oriented mindset
