Your Role

As a Sales Support Engineer (also known as Sales Engineer or Proposal Engineer), you will play a crucial role in managing technical sales support, proposal preparation, and contract negotiations.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will collaborate with engineering, sales, and technical teams to develop winning proposals that align with client specifications. You will also streamline sales processes, improve quotation accuracy, and ensure seamless coordination between commercial and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare technical and commercial proposals for potential clients.
  • Manage tender preparation, bid proposals, and quotation submissions.
  • Support the Sales Manager in contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Coordinate with engineering and sales teams to optimize proposal accuracy and feasibility.
  • Ensure accurate cost estimation, project scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Maintain consistency in pricing strategies, sales conditions, and contract terms.
  • Utilize CRM software and ERP systems to track proposals and customer interactions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in the sales pipeline.

What Theyre Looking For

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering & Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Sales Engineering, Proposal Management, or Project Management.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and industrial sales.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience with proposal writing, tender preparation, and contract negotiation.
  • A commercial mindset with a passion for engineering and sales.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the marine, offshore, or wind energy industries.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot), ERP software (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics), and project management tools.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, bid and tender certification, or contract law training.
