Your Role
As Shipbuilding Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team that includes Shipbuilding, Mechanical, and Electrical & Automation specialists. The position focuses primarily on Damen's Tugs portfolio and involves both standard and new vessel development. Operating from the Gorinchem office, you will be responsible for delivering technically sound shipbuilding designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and contributing to innovative maritime engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and review designs, specifications, drawings, and weight and stability calculations, in line with industry standards

Generate part and order lists, and prepare technical specifications to support procurement and planning activities

Assist in the approval process with Class and National Authorities

Maintain accurate records by registering and archiving all project-related drawings and documentation

Track, log, and assess engineering hours to ensure alignment with project timelines

Maintain high standards of quality in your own work, aiming for a zero-defect outcome
What Theyre Looking For
Must-have qualifications:

3 to 5 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding or marine engineering

Completed technical HBO degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering

Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD and Cadmatic-Hull
-
Strong command of English, both written and verbal
-
High attention to detail and quality

Ability to organize and manage your own workload effectively
Nice-to-have attributes:

Familiarity with regulatory processes involving Class and National Authorities

Proactive mindset with a drive to contribute to both standard and new vessel development
