Marathon TS is seeking a Network Engineer to support a client in the Huntsville AL area. This position is onsite and requires an active DoD Top Secret clearance. This position will operation in a Network Operating Center (NOC) environment. The shift is a "swing shift” - Tuesday through Saturday.

Network Engineer
Huntsville AL (Onsite)
Marathon TS is seeking a Network Engineer to support a client in the Huntsville AL area. This position is onsite and requires an active DoD Top Secret clearance. This position will operation in a Network Operating Center (NOC) environment. The shift is a "swing shift” - Tuesday through Saturday.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Intermediate Network Engineer and on-site government personnel in responding to and managing any tickets, alerts, or communications that come into the Network Operations Center.
- Follow up with other government and contractor personnel on outstanding ticket updates.
- Observe the actions of other contractor personnel to capture and assist with ticket updates or notes for after action reviews.
- Provide support to other contractor personnel towards the accomplishment of their responsibilities and duties.
- Contribute to reporting and data analysis of the work done under the CLIN by the NOC.
- 1-3 years of relevant IT experience with specialization in networking technologies, specifically with Cisco switches and routers and resolving LAN/WAN issues.
- Basic knowledge of IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, Stateful firewalls and encryption technologies.
- Working knowledge of network management tools, such as Riverbed, Wireshark, Micro Focus Network Automation, etc.
- Working knowledge of web applications, web servers, application load balancers and storage systems. Must have good knowledge of general security tools and methodologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS and access control lists.
- Associates of Science degree (preferred) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related area.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Enterprise Core and Infrastructure certification (preferred).
- Top Secret security clearance
