The Network Engineer II will be installing, maintaining and evaluating network systems and communications. You will be assisting in the network architecture design implementation & configuration of network infrastructures and will be working with routers, switches, firewalls, etc. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving network issues and will likely be working independently.
The Network Engineer II will implement necessary security measures to protect specialized systems and networks from unauthorized access and cyber threats and will support the planning and implementation of enterprise service connections among networks, systems, and applications across domains. They will facilitate connections for auditing, authentication, secure cloud computing architecture (SCCA), and Cross-Domain Solutions and Guards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Collaboration with ISSOs and the Cyber Services Lead IV in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process will be part of their responsibilities. They will work with other team members/teams to determine root causes and develop reports for stakeholder consumption. Additionally, they will mentor/train junior staff in methods and processes for effective resolution, tuning and system optimization, alert definitions, appropriate actions, and other routine Engineering activities. The Network Engineer II will have extensive experience in managing classified enterprise networks. They will supervise and mentor subordinate project and ICON Innovation Collaborative (IIC) staff members.
Position Responsibilities
Installing, configuring & maintaining computer network equipment
Designing, deploying, supporting, and troubleshooting enterprise technologies
Working with a designated tech writer in developing documentation for existing networks and maintaining documentation for all new networks and changes
Analyzing and maintaining load balancing, firewall and security products under the network umbrella
Administering routers, switches, and firewalls

Qualifications
- 5 years of position-specific relevant experience
- Strong Cisco Networking experience
- Experience with switching, routing, TCP/IP, ARP, DHCP, DNS, IPSec, etc.
- Linux, Git, JSON, Python, Ansible preferred
- VXLAN, EVPN, SDN, SD-WAN preferred
- CCNA or CCNP highly preferred; CCIE a big bonus
- Security+ Certification or ability to obtain within a month of start
- DoD 8570.01-m IAT Level-II Certification within 6 months of commencing work on the Task Order
- Clearance Level – TS/SCI + CI Poly
- Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related discipline required
