Job Description:
Reliability Engineer supporting electronic space hardware. Engineer will perform analyses to reduce the likelihood of component failure, determine system-level effects of component failures, and the probability of system failures.
Essential Functions:
- Must be able to obtain a US Government Clearance.
- Perform reliability modeling/prediction calculations of electrical systems via commercial software and hand calculations.
- Calculate electronic failure rates per MIL-HDBK-217FN2.
- Define and verify reliability allocations for electronic space system hardware.
- Perform failure modes, effects, and criticality analyses (FMECA) on electronic systems.
- Facilitate electrical part stress analyses (ESA).
- Perform Limited Life Item Analysis.
- Interface and interact with internal and external stakeholders. Drive actions and design change when necessary.
- Create reliability program plans.
- Participate in failure review board (FRB) investigations.
- Write and publish technical reports for internal and external customers.
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Previous Aerospace and/or Government experience.
- Proficient with interpreting electrical schematics.
- Ability to draw knowledge from multiple disciplines (e.g. electrical, thermal, etc.).
- Ability to research and understand unfamiliar systems.
- Proficient with electrical reliability engineering analyses (prediction, FMECA, ESA).
- Proficient with reliability software (WQS or Reliance).
- Proficient with at least one programming language such as Python, C++, Visual Basic, etc.
- Ability to prioritize multiple action items and demonstrated previous project management skills.
