Job Description:
Field Engineering Specialist is responsible for operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of the complete spectrum of avionics systems and proprietary communication systems on various single and multi-engine aircraft. Maintains, repairs, tests and/or calibrates various types of aircraft electronic equipment and related devices such as transmitters, amplifiers, receivers, RF distribution equipment, computer controllers, and workstations. Applies technical knowledge of electronic principles and strong knowledge in troubleshooting techniques to determine avionics malfunctions and restore aircraft to full operational status. Installs and maintains Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) modifications to the aircraft and advises operations and maintenance personnel on their use. Performs work in accordance with technical manuals, schematics, engineering drawings, and written/verbal instructions.

Essential Functions:
- Apply knowledge and understanding of operational procedures, inspection requirements, troubleshooting, and maintenance techniques to aircraft communications/navigation and ancillary electronics systems.
- Utilize a variety of aircraft test equipment, technical publications, and schematics.
- Willingness and ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS in excess of 50% of the time.
- Maintain aircraft within a small team.
- Experience with a wide range of technical reference material from commercial/OEM manuals to blueprints/engineering drawings.
- Physical requirements of the job include lifting, bending, and climbing.
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance which has been investigated within the last six years with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret sececurity clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft avionics operation, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection.
- Ability to pass FAA Class III medical exam.
- Minimum 1 year experience in flight status.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products.
