The Decision and Infrastructure Sciences (DIS) division researches, designs, and delivers scientific tools and methodologies to inform decision-making regarding the most challenging security, risk, and resilience problems. As a multidisciplinary national laboratory, Argonne offers an exciting atmosphere in which to collaborate on interdisciplinary projects that focus on complex technical problems and integrated application of natural, social, and computer science practices.
To assist our research mission, DIS is seeking a Senior Intelligence Analyst to support our growing national security and intelligence analyses missions in the Emerging and Disruptive Technology (EDT) space.

To assist our research mission, DIS is seeking a Senior Intelligence Analyst to support our growing national security and intelligence analyses missions in the Emerging and Disruptive Technology (EDT) space.
In this position, you will:
- Develop methodologies and processes to compile and analyze relevant intelligence information from across the Intelligence Community (IC) based on standing and priority data requests
- Conduct all-source analysis to research, propose, and write a range of finished intelligence products on issues related to EDT and according to IC production standards
- Assist with the program management of one or more portfolios aiding the current principal investigator with planning and executing projects and managing budgets and resources
- Act as a subject matter in one or more core areas associated to EDT
- Identify, define, and articulate the relationship between relevant intelligence information and EDT activities and priorities
- Provide analytic support and expertise to sponsored research programs related to EDT, critical infrastructure, homeland and national security, and nuclear materials safety and proliferation.
- Interface with Argonne subject matter experts in key emerging technology fields and nuclear related issues to produce a range of assessments and reports for senior government officials
- Work with DIS and other Argonne subject matter experts to support government sponsors interested in a wide range of both domestic and international security and threat areas
To be considered you must have:
- To perform the essential functions of this position successful applicants must provide proof of U.S. citizenship and currently hold Top Secret/SCI or Q/SCI clearance (DOD or DOE), which is required to comply with federal regulations and contract.
- A formal education in one of the EDT fields: Electric and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Biology, or related fields. Candidates with a social science degree or intelligence analysis and previous experience working in one of the EDT technical areas described below will also be considered
- Knowledge, experience, and skill in one or more EDT specialized technical areas including: artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML), high performance computing (HPC) quantum information sciences (QIS), biotechnology, and microelectronics/microprocessors
- Experience in a program management position leading projects and managing budgets to meet sponsor requirements.
- Experience working with Intelligence Community (IC) partners or other national security organizations
- Extensive knowledge of intelligence analysis methodologies and tradecraft as well as experience consuming and developing various finished intelligence products while adhering to appropriate information security practices
- Ability to use independent judgment and abstract from specific problems to general solutions/findings
- Strong oral and written communications skills, including the ability to translate technical information into plain language for different sponsor audiences
- Skill and experience working on multiple projects simultaneously, including demonstrated project management practices and the ability to manage deadlines and resources
- Skill and experience collaborating with team members and leading independent analysis in support of projects
- Ability to work on-site at our Lemont, IL campus most days in a secure environment
