Tyto Athene is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Technician to support our customer in West Mifflin, PA



Responsibilities:

  • Capable of performing PBX and cabling troubleshooting.
  • Day-to-day moves, adds and changes of telephones.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experienced in assessing user needs, translating those needs to identify the nature of the trouble and applying skills to rectify the issue.
  • Demonstrates general knowledge and proficiency with computing and/or telecommunications technologies.
  • Install, maintain, and support voice and data end points, circuits, and telecommunications’ systems. Responsible for performing telephone activities in telecommunication distribution rooms and user areas.
  • Install operating station equipment (telephones, etc.) at the end user’s location.
  • Install distribution frame patches and disconnects in telecommunication distribution rooms.
  • Test and verify telephone cable connections. Repair or replace faulty cables and connectors.



Required:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in advance troubleshooting and system maintenance of a PBX.
  • Possess computer skills with Microsoft products such as Outlook, etc.
  • Working knowledge of routers and switches is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of telephony, UC, VoIP and SIP.
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities simultaneously is required.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Ability to work flexible/extended hours to include on call rotation is required.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds if required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Current Secret or higher security clearance.



Desired:

  • Experience with the US Federal Government.
  • Experience with the Avaya Communication Manager and NEC PBX platforms is a plus.
