BDR is seeking a Database Administrator to join our growing team! This is a hybrid position that will be performed on-site in Washington, DC. This position requires US Citizenship with an active Top Secret clearance.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our DOJ team as we continue providing support to modification projects upgrading, working sites and enhancing SharePoint capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains integrity, security and availability of databases.
  • Supports data modeling activities by way of prototype database implementations.
  • Establishes and maintains database user accounts.
  • Provides senior level server administration with Oracle and Sybase databases.
  • Coordinates database architecture changes with Principal Database Architect and Scrum Master.
  • Directs the monitoring, administrating, and implementing performance on database systems as well as database performance optimization, developing/changing database indices, redesigning database structure and reloading data into new databases.
  • A thorough understanding of database applications and technology for mission operations.
  • Plan for transition of the development and/or production environment to new technology.
  • Recommend and plan server recapitalization.
  • Perform server performance tuning.
  • Perform optimization and tuning of data loads and extractions.
  • Recommend appropriate procedure, query or package changes and optimizations to ensure and improve system performance and reliability.
  • Install and configure database environments and associated storage systems.
  • Perform backups/restores, and archive data.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent level of experience
  • Must have at least 6 years of relevant experience
  • Security Clearance Requirement: Must have a fully adjudicated Top Secret

Desired Skills And Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in database management
  • Possesses technical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly politically sensitive environment.
  • Experience in either Windows or Linux
  • Ability to interface with clients on a daily basis at the client site.
  • Exceptional inter-personal, communication and customer service skills

In addition, U.S Citizenship is required. Select applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be able to obtain a government-granted security clearance.
