About the job Telecommunications Engineer
Seeking a TS-cleared Senior Telecommunications Engineer to support a mission-critical team that provides telecommunications systems engineering, design, deployment, and O&M support for critical communication systems. Five days onsite in Bluemont, VA. Hybrid after six months.
Here's what you'll do:
· Supports technical operation, maintenance, and training for IGS, FNARS, and/or COOP SATCOM programs.
· Provides system development and lifecycle management support, such as architecture, design, configuration management, and lifecycle management
· Support system design and R&D for emerging technologies, including HF, VHF, UHF LMR systems; RF systems; SATCOM systems; and Voice, Video, and Data systems
· Performing troubleshooting and fault isolation KSAs in Type I encrypted secure operations
· Supporting non-secure/secure satellite phone and radio operations
· Assembling and providing user and operator system training, including developing operational documentation of all installed equipment and providing one-on-one and group training sessions.
· Develop and/or contribute to technical deliverables e.g., Test Reports, Requirements and Integration documents, and weekly status reports.
· Provide technical writers with necessary information to develop required documentation
Requirements
· Hold a current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification with substantial experience with routers, switches, servers and telecommunications systems, in addition to network infrastructure design.
· Seven years’ experience with a strong emphasis in non-secure/secure HF radio, satellite, VSAT, VHF/UHF Land Mobile Radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, telephone, satellite telephone and FAX machine operations along with communications systems troubleshooting, fault isolation and system restoration.
· Experience with system design and integration and testing, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and associated documentation, such as MOAs and SOPs.
· Knowledge of Joint Requirements and Integration Management System documentation, such as capability analysis report, analysis of alternatives, mission needs statements, operational requirements documents, CONOPS.
· Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle and associated acquisition documentation, such as Lifecycle Cost Estimates (LCCEs), Business Impact Analysis (BIA), Statements of Work, and Market Research Reports.
· Familiar with DHS Enterprise Architecture compliance requirements and processes.
· Bachelors of Science in Science, Information Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (preferred).
Clearance Required
Must be a U.S. citizen and have active Top Secret security clearance based on a Tier 5 investigation, formerly Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), within the last 36 months.
