About the job Workshop Supervisor

A respected car dealership and service center located in Muscat, Oman, dedicated to providing high-quality automobiles and exceptional customer service is currently seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to join their team and lead their service department. The ideal candidate will undertake service and maintenance of all the vehicles keeping in line to the manufacturers and company standards as well as maintaining the workshop standards, facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities:

Efficiency and Productivity:

  • Works to achieve individual as well as team-based targets for efficiency and high productivity
  • Works towards the optimum utilization of the facility (generated business Vs. total capacity of the facility).
  • Controlling the Work in Progress Reports (WIP). Works towards enhancing the labor sales achievement (labor sales vs target set)

Operational/HSE:

  • Ensures the workshop follows health and safety guidelines
  • Responsible to support high level diagnostic and troubleshooting of critical cases
  • Work and maintain all operations within the guidelines and HSE standards set by the company
  • Ensures cleanliness of the workplace, maintenance of the equipment, Overall HSE practices, Storage of uses and new parts etc.
  • Ensures vehicles are maintained to operate efficiently
  • Controlling the Work In Progress Reports (WIP)
  • Creates procedures and systems for maintaining vehicle records
  • Ensures that all the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the workshop are adhered to and maintained

People Management:

  • Conducts recruitment according to the relevant policies and procedures set by the company
  • Controls the workshop leave management process
  • Develop and commit to relevant labor profit targets in relations to the workshop (incentive schemes)
  • Ensures that the relevant skills mixed ratio is maintained in the workshop
  • Responsible to oversee technicians are trained to a competent level to perform on the job
  • Ensures the workshop follows health and safety guidelines

Customer Focus:

  • Responsible for servicing and maintenance schedules for vehicles
  • Ensure quality of work identified through quality audits, CSI analysis and other standards set by the company such as Fix it right first, No rework, No repeat, etc.
  • Works closely with the technicians to ensure high standard of repairs

Teamwork/Employee Morale:

Ensures that excellent internal working relations with colleagues, peers across company, providing assistance, and support when required.

Innovation and Value Addition:

Work towards business improvement while continuously looking for ways to improve business best practice performance of the department and communicating ideas for review.

Requirements:

  • Experience in both VW and Audi brands (mandatory)
  • Ability to lead a multi-national workforce
  • Exposure to manufacturer support procedures
  • Written and verbal communication in English Mandatory / Arabic Desirable
  • Proficient in MS Office and Dealer Management Systems (DMS)
  • Diploma in Automotive Discipline
  • 4 to 5 years of experience in similar role
