We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated "Sous Chef" to join the restaurant's culinary team in Beirut, Lebanon. The ideal candidate shall have a passion for Lebanese cuisine, a strong culinary background, and the ability to contribute to the creation of exceptional dishes and pastries.

Sous Chef Duties and Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and maintaining high culinary standards.
  • Collaborating with the Head Chef to develop and update menus, incorporating traditional Lebanese dishes and pastries.
  • Supervising and training kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to standard recipes, portion sizes, and food presentation guidelines.
  • Monitoring food quality and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to meet customer expectations and restaurant standards.
  • Overseeing the preparation of Lebanese specialty dishes, including mezze, grills, stews, salads, and traditional pastries.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and placing orders for ingredients and supplies as needed.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to sanitation and safety standards.
  • Assisting in managing kitchen costs and budgeting, including portion control and minimizing food waste.
  • Staying updated on current food trends, culinary techniques, and industry developments related to Lebanese cuisine and pastries.
  • Contributing creative ideas for menu development, seasonal specials, and promotions.

Sous Chef Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a Lebanese or Middle Eastern restaurant.
  • In-depth knowledge of Lebanese cuisine, traditional recipes, and culinary techniques.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Creativity and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
