About the job Actuarial Manager

We are looking for a seasoned Actuarial Manager who reviews the pricing of Life & Non-Life insurance products, handles financial reporting, and analyzes statistical data for the company. The successful candidate shall prepare presentations and reports to explain their findings to the management, and conduct pricing reviews for new and existing insurance products.

Additionally, he/she shall manage a team of actuarial, coaches, guides, and escalates or refers to Deputy Director with all concerns and reports.

Actuarial Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Abide by the established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives
  • Review existing policies and procedures to determine if they are still applicable to current circumstances
  • Collaborate with the finance department in regulatory reporting.
  • Evaluate existing program and strategy.
  • Review and analyze data to calculate premiums, policy payouts, and other financial metrics 
  • Formulate a suitable basis for expense allocation.
  • Formulate liability valuation and product pricing through experience studies.
  • Monitor and report ongoing financial condition and performance of the business
  • Monitor product pricing and profit testing in support of the product implementation process and monitor the experience of existing financial products.
  • Report ongoing financial condition and performance of the business to Deputy Director
  • Perform research into new trends in the insurance industry to identify areas where new products may be needed
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the actuarial team, supervise staff members, and provide guidance to other managers.
  • Manage the departments staff, hire new employees and train existing staff members
  • Develop new policies, products, and procedures to meet customer needs while minimizing risk exposure
  • Attend seminars related to her/his area of expertise as per the approved annual budget

Actuarial Manager Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Masters in Actuarial Science & CII are a plus
  • Minimum 10 years experience in insurance actuarial, 5 of them leading a team
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills
  • Excellent Communication, Organization and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Detail & Number Oriented Ability to comprehend and analyze data and prepare actuarial concepts and other advanced statistical concepts.
