About the job Senior Treasury Officer
The Senior Treasury Officer is responsible for performing various banking operational activities within our client's Finance Department. He/she is primarily focused on managing cash, banking relationships, banks positions and facilities, cash budget planning, foreign currency hedging and risk exposure to money markets volatility.
General:
- Manage the effective implementation of the set objectives as communicated by Finance Manager and Corporate Finance
- Manage the development and implementation of the Treasury policy in line with set Company targets in order to ensure a sustainable level of liquidity, proper investment of available funds for maximized return, safe exposure to FX risks and appropriate banking facilities at competitive rates
- Maintain an awareness of best practice techniques in the area of Treasury so that levels of efficiency are optimized within the function
- Participate in the production of Management Reports that support the strategic decision-making
- Maintain good working relationships with employees and effectively communicate the general guidelines for cash management.
- Work closely with Finance Manager and liaise with other senior business Managers in order to understand ongoing business activities and the implication they will have on Treasury
- Respond to audit queries in a timely manner; liaise with the Company's external auditors to confirm bank balances as of a certain date.
Foreign Currency hedging:
- Setting the strategy for demand and supply of LBP, and old and fresh dollar / euro
- Ensure the Company's exposure to FX risk is well hedged through technical and fundamental analysis.
- Propose and implement the right hedging tools (e.g. Forwards, spot.) through consultation with the Company's bankers and Group Treasury.
- Issue periodical FX reports that show the Company's actual and forecasted foreign currency needs along with the hedging tools used to cover the exposure.
Banks:
- Compile and generate the bank reports showing daily balances of cash, loans, and other banking facilities
- Support the finance Manager in Negotiating bank facilities (Overdrafts, Trade facilities, short and long term loans, etc) while insuring that the requested facilities are delivered in time and at competitive cost levels
- Manage the conditions of letters of credit, bank guarantees and other trade financing instruments in order to guarantee the Company's funds and financing needs
- In line with projected business projects that require additional financing, proactively prepare and present to banks the business case supported by financial data in order to obtain the needed facilities
- Manage and follow-up banking commissions and charges
- Automate banking processes (payments, receipt of payments, etc.)
Cash Management:
- Oversee the cash and quasi cash deposits at banks
- Allocate the funds, per bank, as per maintaining sufficient liquidity and catering for regular settlements
- Design, draft and assist in implementing the Company's Cash Flow budget and forecasts that reflect the current and projected sources and uses of funds.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g. supply chain planning, purchasing) in order to forecast future cash disbursements and foreign currency needs incl. DIO/DSO/DPO.
- Compile and generate the Cash Conversion Ratio/Cycle supported by analysis and recommendations for improvement in the Company's cash position.
- Ensure proper petty cash management and credit cards reconciliation process.
Miscellaneous: - Ad hoc Treasury reporting for internal (Global Treasury, CIL, GIA) and external stakeholders (Auditor, MoF, tax advisor)
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- BA in Accounting/Finance/ & Banking or equivalent; Masters is a plus.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in related accounting, treasury or finance environment
- Good spreadsheet and presentation skills (MS Excel, PowerPoint)
- Accurate and meticulous
- Trustworthy
Language(s)
Good Command of English, French is a plus
