Our client is a leading regional group, seeking to hire a "Senior Officer Windows Server System Administration" for their FinTech line. The position will be based in Baghdad, Iraq.
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
- Windows Server Administration: Manage and maintain the Windows Server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting of servers in physical and virtual environments.
- Active Directory Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of Active Directory services, including user and group management, security policies, and integration with other systems.
- Server Deployment and Migration: Plan, coordinate, and execute server deployments, upgrades, and migrations to support our growing business needs, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to services.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor server performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively optimize system resources for optimal performance.
- Implement performance tuning strategies as required.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard the Windows Server infrastructure.
- Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and implement necessary security patches and updates Backup and Disaster Recovery.
- Design and implement robust backup and disaster recovery solutions for Windows Server systems, ensuring the integrity and availability of critical data.
- Regularly test and validate backup processes and procedures.
- Incident Management and Troubleshooting: Respond to and resolve escalated
- server-related incidents and problems in a timely manner. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Share knowledge and provide training to junior team members to enhance overall team capabilities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience (typically 4+ years) in Windows Server administration and management in enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of Storage, Active Directory, Group Policy, and related services.
- Proficient in PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Windows Server Backup, Veeam).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex server issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
