About the job Financial Controller
Our client, a leading manufacturing company in Abidjan, Cote D'Ivoire is currently seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their finance team.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Compliance Oversight
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations and accounting standards.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with reporting requirements and resolve any issues or inquiries.
Financial Policies and Controls Development
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard company assets and ensure efficient financial operations.
- Collaborate with other departments to support cross-functional initiatives and optimize business processes.
Financial Analysis and Strategic Decision Support
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insightful analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor cash flow, investments, and financial performance metrics to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Communication & Working Relationships
Internal:
- Maintain ongoing communication with the Group CEO for effective collaboration and reporting.
- Stay in continuous contact with Senior Management at the Group level to collaborate on managerial and business development matters.
External:
- Regularly engage with regulators and external auditors for reporting requirements and to stay updated on any new regulations impacting the business.
- Maintain regular communication with key clients to improve business opportunities and manage relationships effectively.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Masters degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, financial regulations, and reporting.
- CFA/CPA or similar certifications are a plus. Proven track record of strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to provide actionable insights.
- Advanced level proficiency in MS Office and financial software.
- Excellent command of English and French.
