Our client is a leading regional group, seeking to hire a "Senior Officer Linux and VMware" for their FinTech line. The position will be based in Baghdad, Iraq, reporting to the Head of IT Department.

The ideal candidate for the role of Senior Officer Linux and VMware will possess a profound expertise in Linux and VMware technologies, coupled with a proven history of effectively overseeing and executing complex IT projects

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Administer and troubleshoot Linux servers and associated technologies, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning,ensure optimal performance of client's mobile wallet platform.
  • Manage and monitor the virtualization infrastructure using VMware technologies, including vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi, to ensure high availability and scalability of virtual machines.
  • Proactively identify and resolve any performance or security issues related to Linux servers and VMware virtual machines, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal user experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and support new applications and services on Linux servers and VMware virtual machines.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Perform regular system backups and implement disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and minimize any potential data loss.
  • Implement best practices in Linux administration and virtualization technologies, incorporating them into client's infrastructure as appropriate.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related
    field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Linux system administration, including proficiency in CentOS, Red Hat, or similar distributions.
  • Extensive experience managing VMware infrastructure, including vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization concepts and technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, and other related protocols.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl is preferred.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and log analysis tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certifications.
    • Experience with containerization technologies such as OpenShift.
