Job Description
Our client, a construction firm based in Lebanon and KSA, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor (QS) - Electrical in Beirut, Lebanon who will be responsible for managing the financial and commercial aspects of electrical construction projects, ensuring cost control, contract compliance, and effective project delivery in the estimation department.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts for electrical construction projects.
- Monitor and control electrical project costs, identifying and addressing any variances or cost overruns in a timely manner.
- Manage the tendering and procurement process for electrical works, including the evaluation of bids and the negotiation of contracts with electrical subcontractors and suppliers.
- Coordinate and oversee the preparation of monthly progress reports, payment applications, and other financial documentation related to electrical work.
- Ensure compliance with electrical contract terms, relevant regulations, and company policies throughout the project.
- Conduct regular site inspections and liaise with project managers to verify the accuracy of electrical progress claims and variations.
- Maintain comprehensive project records, including electrical contract documents, shop drawings, and change orders.
- Provide cost analysis and financial advice to the project team, contributing to informed decision-making and risk mitigation for electrical work.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in electrical work, and implement strategies to optimize project delivery.
- Mentor and train junior members of the quantity surveying team on electrical cost management and commercial practices.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of company-wide policies, procedures, and best practices related to electrical cost management and project administration.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager specializing in electrical construction projects.
- Thorough understanding of electrical contracts, cost management, and project administration principles.
- Proficient in the use of electrical cost estimating software, project management tools, and financial reporting systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex electrical data and make informed recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant professional qualifications, such as a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., RICS, CIBSE) are highly desirable.
