About the job Purchasing Officer
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive "Purchasing Officer" to join the Lebanese restaurant specializing in Lebanese cuisine and pastries. The Purchasing Officer shall be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of high-quality ingredients, supplies, and equipment.
The ideal candidate should have experience in procurement, knowledge of the Lebanese food industry, and strong negotiation and organizational skills.
Purchasing Officer Duties:
- Conducting research to identify reliable suppliers and vendors for ingredients, produce, spices, equipment, and other necessary items for the restaurant.
- Collaborating with the Head Chef and management to determine the quantity and quality requirements for various ingredients and supplies.
- Obtaining and comparing price quotes from multiple suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and negotiate favorable terms.
- Managing inventory levels, monitoring stock availability, and placing timely orders to ensure sufficient supplies while minimizing waste and storage costs.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, fostering open communication and resolving any issues or discrepancies.
- Keeping up-to-date with market trends, new product introductions, and industry regulations related to food and restaurant supplies.
- Continuously seeking opportunities to optimize purchasing processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
Purchasing Officer Skills:
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of the Lebanese food industry and familiarity with traditional Lebanese ingredients and products.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build vendor relationships.
- Familiarity with food and beverage procurement is advantageous.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
