Division: Fire Resistance Testing Division

Reporting: Area Manager

Supervising: Fire Resistance Testing Senior Technicians, Fire Resistance Testing Technicians, Fire Resistance Testing Furnace Operator, Fire Resistance Testing Technical Manager, Fire Resistance Testing Laboratory working personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Personal Development

    • Master fire resistance testing standards (BS-EN, ASTM, UL) and ensure compliance with technical and safety aspects.
    • Conduct training for fire testing furnace components.
    • Focus on personal ongoing self-development and growth.
  2. Accreditation and Quality Management Systems

    • Maintain ISO 17025, ISO 17065, and ISO 17020 accreditation.
    • Uphold ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 quality management system certifications.
    • Plan and maintain work systems for optimum laboratory performance.
  3. Relationship with Subordinates

    • Develop a yearly training program for staff in fire resistance testing.
    • Ensure health and safety, provide oversight, and empower employees.
    • Implement performance management and development processes.
  4. Business Unit

    • Manage operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities.
    • Plan and allocate resources efficiently, improving business processes.
    • Make financially responsible business decisions.
  5. Laboratory Welfare

    • Manage furnace maintenance and fire safety inspection programs.
    • Inspect and test fire testing furnace components.
    • Ensure maintenance of firefighting systems in the laboratory.
  6. Testing Requirement

    • Coordinate with clients to understand and meet testing requirements.
    • Supervise sample preparation, testing procedures, and troubleshooting.
    • Implement fire testing standards and communicate with clients.
  7. Other Duties as Assigned

    • Cooperate and communicate with laboratory staff, engineers, and department heads.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum three years in leadership or supervisory roles.
  • Thorough knowledge of fire resistance testing standards.
  • Skills: Quality and safety-oriented, business management, interpersonal relationship building, team-oriented, and organizational management.

Language Ability: English (Read, Spoken, and Written)

Computer Skills: Proficient in internet software, email, MS Office, and database software.
