Our client, a leading FMCG company in Kuwait, is seeking a Maintenance Manager- Utilities overseeing the operation, management, and maintenance of utility systems within the manufacturing facility. The role will be accountable for effective management of all managed assets onsite, optimizing the operating cost of all utility equipment and overseeing the maintenance of all external retail shops, stores, warehouses at different locations.

Responsibilities:

1) Utility System Oversight: Manage the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of utility systems to ensure reliability, efficiency, and adherence to regulatory standards.

2) Preventive Maintenance Programs: Enhance and develop maintenance schedules that minimize system downtime and extend equipment lifespan.

3) Utility Consumption Monitoring: Track utility usage and devise strategies to reduce operational costs and improve overall efficiency.

4) Spare Parts Management: Support the development of spare parts management strategies based on equipment criticality to maintain uptime with minimal inventory.

5) Team Leadership: Lead and mentor utility technicians and operators, providing training, guidance, and regular performance feedback.

6) Safety Culture Promotion: Foster a team culture centered on safety, accountability, and ongoing improvements in operational practices.

7) Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement plans for emergency responses related to utility disruptions, coordinating effectively with internal teams and external services.

8) Budget and Cost Control: Create and manage the utility budget, including expense forecasting, monitoring, and cost-saving initiatives.

9) Supplier Negotiation and Procurement: Evaluate utility contracts, negotiate technical terms with suppliers, and assist in optimizing procurement strategies to control costs.

10) Safety and Compliance Audits: Conduct regular inspections and audits of utility systems to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

11) Sustainability and Regulatory Adherence: Support sustainability initiatives and contribute to strategies for reducing emissions (scope 1 and 2), while complying with all relevant safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications:

1) Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

2) Total of 10 years of experience in the field.

3) Good understanding of utility systems such as cooling plants, HVAC, boilers, water treatment, electrical power distribution, and backup power systems.

4) Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to utility systems, as well as implementing preventive maintenance programs to ensure reliability and efficiency.

5) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate with senior management, and interact with external stakeholders such as suppliers and contractors.

6) Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and standards related to utility operations, including health, safety, and environmental regulations.

7) Strong analytical and decision-making abilities to assess complex situations, analyze data, and develop strategies for optimizing utility systems and processes.

8) Experience in managing utility-related projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating resources to achieve project objectives.

9) Proficiency in MS Office and utility management software such as SCADA/BMS.

10) Proficiency in English is a must, Arabic is a plus.
