The Senior SAP BASIS Consultant is a highly skilled and experienced professional responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of SAP systems across the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of SAP BASIS technologies, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration:

    • Install, upgrade, and patch SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, etc.)

    • Manage system landscapes (development, quality assurance, production)

    • Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning

    • Manage user authorizations and security profiles

    • Troubleshoot system issues and provide timely resolutions

    • Maintain system documentation and run books

  • Technical Support:

    • Provide technical support to end-users and application teams

    • Investigate and resolve incidents and service requests

    • Perform root cause analysis of system problems

    • Coordinate with vendors and third-party support providers

  • Project Implementation:

    • Participate in SAP implementation and upgrade projects

    • Perform system installations and configurations for new projects

    • Assist in the development and testing of system interfaces

    • Ensure smooth go-live transitions

    • Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Perl, Python)

    • Explore and implement new technologies and best practices within SAP BASIS

    • Continuously improve system performance and availability

  • Compliance & Security:

    • Ensure compliance with relevant security and audit regulations (e.g., SOX, GDPR)

    • Implement and maintain security measures to protect SAP systems from threats

    • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP BASIS Consultant

  • Strong understanding of SAP BASIS technologies (e.g., OS/DB, NetWeaver, HANA)

  • Experience with SAP ECC and S/4HANA systems

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 1  

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Perl, Python)

  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and service management best practices

  • Relevant SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP Basis) are a plus
