Our client is a leading virtual asset trading platform. They are part of a leading Asian crypto exchange group. They are seeking a Head of Custody to oversee their digital asset custody services. The candidate be responsible for establishing and managing a robust custody framework to safeguard their customers' digital assets. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive digital asset custody strategy.
  • Establish custody policies, procedures, and controls in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the safekeeping, storage, and movement of digital assets.
  • Ensure compliance with industry best practices and security standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate custody services with trading operations.
  • Manage relationships with third-party custodians and service providers.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of custody processes and systems.
  • Stay up to date with evolving blockchain technologies and security advancements.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on custody-related matters.
  • Prepare and present custody reports to senior management and regulatory authorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in finance and/or fintech industry, with 2 years in digital asset custody or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of custody practices, processes, and security protocols.
  • Familiarity with blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks related to custody services.
  • Excellent leadership and managerial skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in written Chinese and spoken Cantonese and/or Mandarin is highly desirable
