The Systems Management Specialist is responsible for supporting technical system areas and providing system management support for Tracking Software products to existing customers and new implementations. The Systems Management Specialist will monitor system performance, respond to technical issues, and act as subject matter experts for Tracking Software infrastructure and platform areas.

Responsibilities

  • Support with the installation of Tracking Software patches/releases/builds on the appropriate client platforms in compliance with quality assurance standards, best practices, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Carry out system restore/backup operations and put in place adequate data protection, disaster recovery, and failover methods.
  • Provide technical support for Tracking Software installation difficulties and performance analysis.
  • Perform hardware inspections and reviews of existing architectures in preparation for system upgrades and new implementations.
  • Using the helpdesk tool, to monitor, and respond to technical concerns.
  • Maintaining and testing Tracking Software includes internal and external utilities, such as patching tools, print services, and so on.
  • Supporting Presales with any technical requests, such as architecture, configuration, hardware sizing, and so on.
  • Development of training materials for technical courses such as system administration.
  • Creating technical documentation like build specifications, run sheets, reference materials, installation instructions, user guides, knowledge-base articles, and how-tos.
  • Participate in the on-call 24-hour support service as required. Other duties may be assigned by the Company at any time.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience with Apache setups on Unix or Linux System Administration (RHEL) is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with complicated troubleshooting.
  • Primary server administration, including installation, updates, and day-to-day maintenance and operation.
  • Creating documentation for successful service support in the production environment and managing service pass on to the technical support team
  • Familiarity with virtualization and hypervisors.
  • Working knowledge of basic programming, scripting, and automation tools.
  • IT certifications in Linux, MCSE, or other network-related professions are highly desired.

Education and Training

  • Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related work experience
