Job Summary:
The Business Unit Head will be responsible for the overall strategic direction,
operational management, and financial performance of the assigned business unit.
This role involves driving the growth and profitability of the business unit through
effective leadership, innovative strategies, and collaboration with cross-functional
teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmaceutical
management, a deep understanding of the healthcare market, and a proven track
record of achieving business objectives.
Job Requirements:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the business unit's strategic plan in alignment with the company overall goals.
- Identify and capitalize on market opportunities to drive growth and profitability.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to adapt strategies accordingly.
Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the business unit to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and company policies.
Financial Performance:
- Manage the business units budget, including forecasting, allocation, and financial reporting.
- Drive revenue growth through innovative marketing and sales strategies.
- Analyze financial data to make informed business decisions and improve profitability.
Product Development and Lifecycle Management:
- Collaborate with R&D, marketing, and sales teams to ensure successful product launches and lifecycle management.
- Develop and execute plans for new product development and market entry.
- Monitor the performance of existing products and make recommendations for improvements or discontinuations.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, regulatory bodies, and industry partners.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, meetings, and events.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization.
Skills and knowledge:
- Bachelors degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successful business management and achievement of financial targets.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical market, including regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
