The Technical Specialist in Product Management plays a vital role as a Technical Product Specialist by managing the technical aspects of global and regional editions. This includes developing specific deliverables for regional editions and creating tools for worldwide implementation projects.

The Technical Specialist is responsible for ensuring that software development activities for regional or global editions meet project specifications and are delivered and deployed in accordance with project requirements. This role may also require visiting client sites and implementation partners to provide technical support and training. International travel may be necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product managers to address ongoing enhancement requests and new or modified report requests.
  • Assist project managers and technical implementation teams during implementation.
  • Act as the main technical point of contact for one or more regional editions.
  • Develop tools for use in technical implementation globally.
  • Produce builds and releases in accordance with accepted release engineering principles.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve failures for regional editions.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues in the regional or global edition.
  • Develop software for regional edition customization, including JavaScript, user-defined functions, interfaces, reports, extracts, data migration scripts, and conversions.
  • Provide technical assistance with customizations such as JavaScript, user-defined functions, interfaces, reports, extraction, data transfer scripts, and conversions.
  • Technical implementation teams can benefit from technical guidance and best practices.
  • Provide technical help for reports, stored procedures, interfaces, conversions, data migration scripts, and user-defined function troubleshooting and performance analysis.
  • All product-related utilities, such as patching tools and print services, should be supported and tested.
  • Create technical training materials for topics like system customization and reporting.
  • Create technical documentation like reference materials, installation instructions, user guides, knowledge-base articles, and how-tos.


    Other duties may be directed by the Company from time to time.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in SQL, Java, and JQuery
  • Experience with data analysis and database methodologies
  • Ability to design and write technical documents
  • Knowledge of Linux-based environments, including the setup of CUPS and Apache; experience writing Shell scripts is a plus.
  • Customer-focused support experience
  • Demonstrated the ability to lead and deliver results within specific timeframes
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to conduct training and develop training materials
  • Team player in a cross-cultural environment
  • Willingness to work outside regular office hours and travel
  • Passion for learning new technologies and applications

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in technology or computer science
