Job Title: Senior Backend Developer (PHP/Laravel)

Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer who has a strong background in PHP and the Laravel framework. This role will involve leading backend development efforts, ensuring top-notch security, optimizing performance, and building scalable solutions. You will work with cloud infrastructure, microservices, and containerization tools like Docker. Additionally, you'll guide code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers.

Responsibilities:

  • Backend Development: Develop, test, and deploy backend solutions using PHP and Laravel, ensuring robust, scalable, and maintainable code.

  • Database Management: Design and manage relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.

  • Security: Implement and uphold security best practices, with a strong understanding of data protection and access controls.

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Manage cloud infrastructure, particularly on AWS, and leverage cloud-based solutions for scalability and performance.

  • Performance Optimization: Optimize backend code for maximum speed and scalability, using profiling and performance analysis tools as needed.

  • Microservices and Containerization: Design and implement microservices architecture, and manage containerized applications using Docker.

  • Code Quality & Mentorship: Conduct code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices. Mentor junior developers to foster growth and improvement within the team.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years in backend development with extensive PHP and Laravel experience.

  • Security: Strong understanding of backend security principles and best practices.

  • Performance Optimization: Proven experience in profiling and optimizing backend performance.

  • Microservices and Docker: Solid experience in microservices architecture and containerization tools.

  • Leadership: Experience leading code reviews and mentoring junior developers.

  • Strong communication skills: Ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts and mentor junior developers.


Nice to have:

  • Experience with other cloud providers or cloud-native technologies.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Node.js.
