Application Engineer - Part-Time

Application Engineer (Part-Time, Automotive HVAC & Electrical)
Remote / Southeast Michigan
$40 to $50 per hour, plus a $20,000 to $30,000 annual guarantee

The role

A premier automotive electronics supplier is looking for a highly experienced technical engineer for a part-time, consulting-style role. This is peer-to-peer engineering engagement, not sales. You will use your technical depth and your existing relationships inside GM, Ford or Stellantis to help win and shape technical business.

What you'll do

• Maintain and build technical relationships within HVAC and electrical engineering divisions at GM, Ford or Stellantis
• Translate incoming technical RFQs and help structure the response
• Engage OEM engineering contacts engineer to engineer, diagnosing pain points and opening early conversations
• Work alongside internal sales executives to follow up on live opportunities

What you'll need

• Background as a Design Release Engineer (DRE), Chief Engineer or Commodity Engineer at GM, Ford or Stellantis
• Specialist domain experience in HVAC and electrical systems
• A live network inside OEM engineering
• Comfortable working independently with minimal structure
