Attorney - First Party Property Defense - Miami, FL

Thompson Staffing is looking for an Attorney with first party property defense experience to work for a law firm in Miami, FL. Candidate must have between 5 7 years of experience in the field of first party property and be a member in good standing of the Florida bar. Candidate must have exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills. This position is full-time with full benefits.

Primary duties include:

• Review and defend first party property claims; legal analysis of claims and causes of action
• Extensive legal research and drafting of substantial pleadings
• Regularly representing clients in court, at arbitrations and in depositions
• Drafting and responding to discovery requests
• Expert witness retention and collaboration
• Trial preparation and attendance
• Some travel may be required

Requirements

• 5+ years of First Party Property Defense
• Experience handling civil cases from beginning to end,
• Experience taking and defending depositions and experts witnesses, drafting and arguing substantive motions, attending hearings and trials
• Experience participating in negotiations and mediations
• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school
• Admitted to practice in the state of Florida
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Solid research abilities and written and oral communication skills
• Strong work ethic, the ability to self-manage and work in a team environment
• Must respond promptly to e-mail and phone inquiries
• Excellent client skills

Pay Range - $143,000 - $152,900
