Production Manager
Job Description:
Our client, in FMCG chemical manufacturing is looking for an experienced and skilled Production Manager to join their dynamic team in Benoni to manage and lead a competent team, oversee the manufacturing processes, ensure efficiencies, safety, and quality standards throughout its operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and give input to operating plans.
- Manage, lead and supervise production staff, including assigning tasks, providing training, and monitoring performance to ensure productivity and quality goals are met.
- Communicate production goals, priorities, and performance metrics effectively to ensure alignment and accountability.
- Ensure production targets are met through effective planning and scheduling and allocation of resources.
- Maintain accurate production records, including production logs, inventory records, and quality documentation.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
- Adhere to quality and safety standards through implementation of quality control procedures, adherence to product specifications, etc.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address concerns.
- Monitor and proactively manage operational efficiencies by streamlining processes, integrate workflow.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, process deviations, and other production problems to minimize downtime and maintain efficient operations.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors/Diploma in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, relevant qualifications.
- 5 years' experience as a Production Manager in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- 4 years' People Management experience
- Experience in the implementation of safety standards and systems.
- Experience in handling of hazardous chemicals.
- Computer skills (Technology systems and processes)
- Compliance (legislation/regulations)
