Key Responsibilities

  • Research, investigate, and report on employment trends, labour market policies, and economic developments across Africa.
  • Develop compelling, fact-based stories for Career Indaba Radio, ensuring credibility, accuracy, and depth.
  • Conduct high-profile interviews with industry leaders, policymakers, economists, HR executives, and professionals shaping the job market.
  • Monitor breaking news and emerging workforce trends, ensuring Career Indaba remains a leader in employment reporting.
  • Work closely with producers, editors, and researchers to deliver engaging, insightful, and thought-provoking news segments.
  • Report live from industry events, conferences, and policy briefings, bringing real-time insights to our audience.
  • Develop and deliver investigative reports, special features, and career-focused storytelling segments.
  • Leverage data, research, and expert analysis to create well-informed news content.
  • Produce and script high-quality content for daily news segments, talk shows, and Career Indabas exclusive programs.

Who Should Apply?

  • An experienced journalist, broadcaster, or reporter with 5+ years in business, labour, employment, or economic reporting.
  • Exceptional storytelling skills, able to translate data and policy into engaging, accessible news content.
  • Deep understanding of labour markets, employment policies, and economic trends across Africa.
  • Strong interviewing skills, able to extract meaningful insights from industry leaders and policymakers.
  • A confident, articulate, and engaging on-air presence.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and produce high-quality news content.
  • Familiarity with radio production tools, scripting, and audio storytelling techniques.
  • A deep passion for workforce transformation, business reporting, and public-interest journalism.
