They are now looking for an experienced New Business SEO Director to join the team and lead their efforts in acquiring new clients and expanding their business pipeline through innovative and impactful SEO solutions.

Job Overview:

As the New Business SEO Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving the agency's growth by leading new business efforts and crafting high-level SEO strategies that align with prospective clients' business goals. You will be responsible for acquiring new clients, building relationships, and showcasing our clients SEO expertise through tailored proposals, presentations, and strategic pitches. Your leadership will also support the development of new SEO products and services, helping to expand the agency's service offerings and market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Acquisition:

    • Lead and manage the agency's SEO new business development initiatives, focusing on bringing in high-value clients.
    • Identify and prospect potential clients, leveraging industry research, SEO trends, and data-driven insights to uncover new opportunities.
    • Build relationships with key decision-makers, establish rapport, and position the agency as a trusted SEO partner.
    • Lead pitch processes, from initial client outreach to final proposal, ensuring all SEO strategies align with client needs and expectations.
  • SEO Strategy Development & Pitching:

    • Develop customised SEO strategies for prospective clients, focusing on business objectives, growth opportunities, and long-term success.
    • Present and pitch SEO strategies to clients, translating complex SEO concepts into clear, actionable plans that drive client buy-in.
    • Collaborate with internal teams (SEO, Content, Analytics, etc.) to craft compelling proposals and solutions.
  • Thought Leadership & Industry Engagement:

    • Stay at the forefront of SEO trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to provide fresh and relevant insights to clients.
    • Represent the agency at industry events, conferences, webinars, and networking opportunities to build brand awareness and generate leads.
  • Collaboration & Team Leadership:

    • Work closely with the senior leadership and marketing teams to align new business strategies with the agency's overall goals.
    • Mentor and guide junior team members, helping them develop their SEO expertise and business development skills.
    • Collaborate with the client services and project management teams to ensure smooth onboarding and seamless client relationships.
  • Client Relationship Management:

    • Build strong, long-term relationships with prospective clients to establish trust and facilitate long-term partnerships.
    • Act as the primary SEO point of contact during the sales process, ensuring all communications are clear, professional, and client-centric.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience & Qualifications:

    • 7+ years of experience in SEO, digital marketing, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on new business development.
    • Proven track record of successfully pitching and closing new business, preferably in an agency environment.
    • Strong understanding of SEO principles, algorithms, tools, and trends across various platforms (Google, Bing, etc.).
    • Experience managing and leading client-facing SEO initiatives and teams.
    • Ability to analyse SEO data, metrics, and trends to create actionable, results-oriented strategies.
  • Skills & Attributes:

    • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and persuade at senior levels.
    • Highly strategic, with a strong understanding of how SEO aligns with business growth objectives.
    • Creative problem solver, capable of developing innovative SEO strategies tailored to each clients unique needs.
    • Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large-scale SEO campaigns and multi-channel digital strategies.
  • Familiarity with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and similar.
  • Knowledge of other digital marketing channels (PPC, content marketing, paid social) and their integration with SEO strategies.
  • Established industry network and a strong presence in the SEO community.
