Position Overview:

The Chief Asset Management Officer is responsible for overseeing the organization's asset management function, including the management, performance, and optimization of financial and/or physical assets. The role focuses on maximizing asset value, ensuring risk-adjusted returns, and aligning asset strategies with the organization's long-term objectives. The CAMO will lead asset management teams, drive investment decisions, and ensure compliance with regulatory and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Asset Management Strategy

  • Develop and implement comprehensive asset management strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Define asset allocation, lifecycle management, and performance optimization frameworks.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance asset value and returns.

2. Portfolio Oversight & Performance

  • Oversee performance of asset portfolios (financial assets, real estate, infrastructure, or loan portfolios).
  • Monitor asset performance against benchmarks and KPIs.
  • Implement strategies to improve underperforming assets.

3. Investment & Capital Allocation

  • Guide investment decisions related to asset acquisition, disposition, and optimization.
  • Ensure efficient capital allocation across asset classes.
  • Evaluate new investment opportunities and partnerships.

4. Risk Management & Compliance

  • Establish and enforce risk management frameworks for asset portfolios.
  • Monitor market, credit, operational, and liquidity risks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

5. Operations & Asset Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee asset lifecycle processes including acquisition, maintenance, optimization, and disposal.
  • Drive operational efficiency and cost management across asset management activities.
  • Implement best practices and process improvements.

6. Data, Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop reporting frameworks and dashboards for asset performance and risk metrics.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board.
  • Leverage analytics for forecasting and strategic decision-making.

7. Stakeholder & Client Management

  • Engage with investors, clients, regulators, and key stakeholders.
  • Communicate asset performance, strategy, and market outlook.
  • Support business development and investor relations activities.

8. Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor asset management, investment, and operations teams.
  • Build a high-performance, results-driven culture.
  • Ensure continuous professional development and capability building.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field; MBA, CFA, or equivalent preferred.
  • 12–15+ years of experience in asset management, investment management, or related financial services roles.
  • Proven track record in managing and optimizing large asset portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, asset classes, and regulatory frameworks.
