Position Summary
The Accounting & Administration Officer (Remote) is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the organization. The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial record keeping, timely processing of transactions, effective office administration, and provide support to management in maintaining efficient business operations.
This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who is able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and delivering excellent internal and external customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
- Record financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting.
- Prepare expense reports and verify supporting documentation.
- Maintain petty cash records where applicable.
- Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting activities.
- Support external auditors by preparing requested documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and company policies.
Administration
- Provide administrative support to the management team.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, presentations, and other business documents.
- Coordinate meetings, appointments, and calendars.
- Maintain office supplies and coordinate administrative purchases.
- Assist with document preparation, contracts, and record management.
- Respond professionally to client and stakeholder inquiries.
- Support onboarding and other administrative HR activities as required.
- Assist with special projects and other duties assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in accounting and administrative support.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience using accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- ACCA Level I or II (or equivalent accounting studies).
- Experience supporting a growing business or SME.
- Experience with payroll processing.
- Experience with CRM systems and cloud-based accounting software.
