Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager (Grenada)
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Civil Engineer, located in Grenada. The ideal candidate for Project Manager should be a Senior Civil Engineer. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing civil engineering projects, conducting site investigations, analyzing data, preparing reports, and ensuring projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Oversee and manage infrastructure projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Structural Design and Analysis:
Utilize advanced engineering principles to design and analyse structural components, including concrete and steel structures, ensuring their integrity and safety.
Infrastructure Development:
Lead the design and implementation of roads, drainage systems, sewage networks, and other civil infrastructure projects, considering environmental and regulatory requirements.
Construction Supervision:
Provide on-site supervision and technical guidance during the construction phase, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC):
Implement rigorous QA/QC procedures to verify the quality of materials, workmanship, and construction processes, ensuring the durability and longevity of infrastructure assets.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and challenges associated with infrastructure projects and develop proactive strategies to mitigate them, minimizing project delays and cost overruns.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities to facilitate smooth project execution and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Technical Leadership:
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff, fostering their professional growth and development within the organization.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate project documentation, including engineering drawings, reports, and correspondence, and provide regular progress updates to senior management and project stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in civil engineering, and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards within the organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in civil engineering; Masters degree an asset.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is an asset
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering and Construction Management
Proven expertise in construction design, analysis, and construction, with hands-on experience in concrete and structural steel works.
Strong technical knowledge of roads, drainage, sewage systems, and other civil infrastructure components.
Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be an asset
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, multi-cultural teams, and stakeholders.
Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, SAP2000, ETABS, or similar tools.
Experience working in a site/field environment, with a strong emphasis on construction supervision and quality assurance/quality control.
