Job brief
We are seeking an Operations Clerk to assist the Operations Dept. in processing crucial documents to allow for the seamless operation of the department.
Responsibilities
- Performs entry level duties inclusive of one or more of the following data entry tasks:
- Foreign and domestic payments
- Sundry postings
- Foreign and local cheque processing
- Record keeping, mail handling and statement preparation
- Ensuring accurate and efficient processing consistently within service level agreements.
- Verification functions, common file, cheque clearings, mailbox handling, query management or administrative tasks.
- Trade services, foreign and domestic payments, wires and letters of credit ensuring that all re completed on value date and for the timely processing of non-financial SWIFT messages on SWIFT Alliance Access. The incumbent will be required to validate, repair, and qualify items amended where necessary.
- Investigation of inward payments and queries related to payments.
- Obtain missing information preventing settlement causing outstanding payments and respond on information requested.
- Performs any other operational support activities assigned.
Requirements
- Possess an Associates Degree in Business Administration, Banking and Finance or any related discipline
- Experience with money/cheque handling
- Collections experience is an asset
- Good communication skills
