Position Overview:

The Chief Research Officer is responsible for leading the organization's research function, providing strategic insights to support investment decisions, product development, and business growth. The CRO oversees macroeconomic, sectoral, and company-level research, ensuring high-quality analysis that drives informed decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Research Strategy & Leadership

Develop and execute the organization's research strategy aligned with business and investment objectives.

Define research priorities across asset classes, sectors, and markets.

Ensure delivery of high-quality, timely, and actionable research insights.

2. Market & Economic Research

Lead research on macroeconomic trends, financial markets, and global economic developments.

Provide forecasts and insights on interest rates, inflation, and economic indicators.

Analyze geopolitical and market risks impacting investments.

3. Sector & Company Analysis

Oversee in-depth sectoral and company-level research.

Identify investment opportunities and risks across industries.

Support equity, fixed income, and alternative investment strategies with research insights.

4. Investment Support & Advisory

Collaborate with investment, trading, and portfolio management teams.

Provide recommendations and insights to support asset allocation and portfolio decisions.

Participate in investment committees and strategy discussions.

5. Product Development & Innovation

Support development of new financial products and investment strategies.

Provide research-backed insights for client solutions and offerings.

Stay updated on emerging trends and innovations in financial markets.

6. Data, Analytics & Reporting

Oversee research methodologies, data sources, and analytical frameworks.

Develop reports, publications, and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of research outputs.

7. Stakeholder & Client Engagement

Communicate research insights to senior management, clients, and investors.

Present market outlooks and strategic recommendations.

Represent the organization in industry forums, conferences, and media.

8. Leadership & Team Development

Lead and mentor research analysts and economists.

Build a high-performance research team with strong analytical capabilities.

Promote continuous learning and thought leadership within the team.

9. Compliance & Governance

Ensure research activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Maintain independence and integrity of research outputs.

Establish governance frameworks for research quality and standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; MBA, CFA, or PhD preferred.

12–15+ years of experience in research, investment analysis, or financial markets.

Proven track record of delivering high-quality research and strategic insights.

Strong understanding of macroeconomics, financial markets, and investment strategies.
