The opportunity

An established independent small animal hospital in west Dublin is seeking an experienced Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join its clinical team. This role offers genuine career progression and leadership opportunities for the right candidate and would suit a vet who enjoys surgery, values autonomy, and is ready to take the next step in their professional journey.

The hospital has a diverse and stimulating caseload, primarily focused on dogs and cats, with a smaller exotic component. Experience with exotics is welcome but not essential, as the role is mainly focused on companion animals.

The ideal candidate

The practice is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who:

• Has a strong foundation in soft tissue surgery and dentistry

• Is confident with medical cases and has basic ultrasound skills

• Enjoys leading by example and supporting team development

• Is proactive, collaborative, and committed to high clinical standards

• Is motivated to take ownership and help shape the future of the practice

This role would suit a vet with leadership potential who wants to remain hands-on clinically while progressing into a more senior position.

The role

• Senior clinical position with a clear pathway to increased responsibility

• Full-time role (flexible or part-time working patterns considered)

• Opportunity to be involved in the development of a second site opening soon
